Northern Lights Combo by Bibi Lene Bruun Andersen
Northern Lights Glazed Mug by Bibi Lene Bruun Andersen
Few things capture the magic of the Northern Lights as beautifully as this handmade mug by Bibi Lene Bruun Andersen. With its deep, shifting colors and reflective surface, it feels like holding a piece of the night sky in your hands.
The glaze blends shades of blue, violet, and indigo that flow into one another like glowing auroras. At the top, a rich navy melts into speckled starlight, while lower down, purples and blues swirl together in soft, luminous waves. The shine of the glaze adds depth, making the mug sparkle with life and movement.
The effect comes from carefully layered AMACO glazes – Obsidian, Smokey Merlot, Purple Crystal, and Honey Flux – each reacting differently to create texture and brilliance. The result is unique every time, echoing the unpredictable beauty of the northern skies.
Beyond the artistry, what makes this mug special is its story. It shows how something made at home, with curiosity and passion, can look as breathtaking as a piece of professional art. More than just a vessel, it turns an everyday ritual into a small moment of wonder—like sipping coffee under the stars.
